Summer 2010

It's been a busy summer so far so here are a few updates!

The 2010-2011 Programme is being developped, follow changes by clicking here or on the Programme button on your left.

The banquet last April was a grand success! We were lucky to be joined by Sigma Xi president Dr. Howard Ceri who presented some of his research on biofilms. The dinner at Le Caveau was, as always, well received. You can view some pictures of the evening here.

The seventh annual Sigma Xi Excellence in Undergraduate Research Awards
occured on June 2nd. You can find a full list of the winners and some pictures of the event here. Congratulations again to all of our awardees!

Last but not least, Dr. Tony Whitehead's Festschrift was a blast! You can read his summary here or view more pictures of the event here.

January 2010

Thank you all for making the Joint meeting with the James McGill society a tremendous evening! The Photo Album page has been updated if you're feeling nostalgic...

See you all February 15th for Dr. Don Francis' talk, entitled:
"In search of the Earth's earliest crust"

The 2009 Sigma Xi Christmas Party was a great success. Dr. Jerry Baker from Sigma Xi Headquarters warmed up the crowd for Dr. Theo Van de Ven's talk. Subsequently Dr. Peter Roper was recognized for his amazing 50 years of service to the chapter and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas dinner.
